At The Abode Church, our vision is to “partner with God to cultivate and sustain revival in households across the globe.” This vision includes sending out 10,000 disciples at our present and future locations. Disciples of Jesus that are gritty, Spirit-filled and led, equipped, and trained in the Word of God.
The Abode School of Disciples fulfills a central part of our mission, along with equipping many individuals for future ministry and life in the Spirit.
(Below, Justin and Catherine, two disciples from our 2023 school are open air preaching in Israel)
The School of Disciples is an incredible opportunity to devote 9 months to learn about being a New Testament disciple of Christ. Whether you’re called into ministry or the marketplace, we believe spending 9 months among a group of Spirit and fire-filled believers will be completely life changing.
The ultimate purpose of this school is to create legitimate disciples of Christ. We intend to serve and challenge each disciple that we are blessed to have in this program. Our leadership will seek to equip and activate these disciples with Biblical knowledge, a prayer life, evangelism skills and fruit, training and real experience in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and much more.
Not only will this program will be exhilarating and fun, but also challenging and stretching for each person. Our team will strive to deeply love every person that participates, while working with the Holy Spirit to identify and break down personal walls or hinderances—all unto Christ and His kingdom.
A typical week for a disciple in this program looks like attending a weekly class, attending 3 group prayer meetings a week, participating in 2 evangelism outings a week, reading a book a month, and serving the local church in some capacity.
Disciples will stay in a discipleship house together, either with a roommate or in a room to themselves (depending on the size of that school’s class). These houses will be led by Abode Church leaders who will live in the house and help assist and guide disciples through their program.
Participants are required to either work or attending college (at least part-time) and pay $500/month for rent, plus cover personal groceries.
