Jeff Wells said that “The prayer level in a church is like the water level in a lake. The boats in the lake just like the fruit and people in the church rise and fall based upon the prayer of its people.”
The core teams first focus and goal is prayer. There are other things that will happen to them and through them during their time on the core team, but their first focus is prayer. Each house church and its leaders need prayer, intercession, and covering if revival is to be cultivated and sustained.
Being on the core team will also provide individuals an opportunity to grow as Christians and leaders. First, pressing into prayer for a local body of believers and then for revival will allow God to mold and lead one’s heart in a new way. In addition, each member of a core team will be required to go through a series of lessons that will increase their capacity to know God, follow Him, and be effective ministers of the gospel.
In addition to prayer and going through The Core Team Training, the core team will participate in different activities such as fasting, evangelism, giving prophetic ministry, altar ministry, teaching, and more.
